The Air Bear Cub offers superior performance compared to other 3 inch filters. You can expected a filter lifecycle of 4-6 months however, you may need to replace yours more frequently if:

Choosing the Right MERV Rating

MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) measures an air filter’s ability to capture airborne particles. Air Bear filters are available in three MERV ratings: 

  • MERV 8 – Captures 90% of airborne particles (Comparable to MPR 600, FPR 4-5)
  • MERV 11 – Captures 95% of airborne particles (Comparable to MPR 1000-1200, FPR 6-7)
  • MERV 13 – Captures 95% of even smaller particles, including virus carriers (Comparable to MPR 1500-1900, FPR 8-10)
